Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration 'block party' drew criticism as fans endured freezing weather with no food, bathrooms, or clear access.
According to the New York Post, supporters of Zohran Mamdani gathered outside City Hall on Thursday for what his team promoted as an “Inauguration for a New Era Block Party.” Instead of music, food, and free movement, many found themselves packed into barricaded areas with few amenities as temperatures hovered in the mid-20s.
A source involved with planning the event refused to reveal how many cops will be deployed, but said Mamdani’s transition team will hire and pay for additional private security to reduce the burden on the NYPD — and presumably drive down the cost to taxpayers.
