When you work in funeral service, most of what you do lives in grief. In loss. In the aftermath of someone’s worst day. So to take the same hearse, the same people, the same hands, and use them for something joyful, something generous, something hopeful, felt incredibly meaningful in a way I didn’t expect. This profession asks us to carry a lot, quietly. Today felt like a rare moment where we got to give something without sadness attached to it. I’ll be holding onto that feeling for a long time.
